Rolex has partnered with Wallpaper*, the renowned architecture and interior design magazine, to release the first-ever authorised history of its iconic Oyster Perpetual Submariner watch. This 252-page coffee table book, titled Oyster Perpetual Submariner: The Watch That Unlocked the Deep, delves into the rich legacy of one of the most celebrated dive watches ever made. Written by Nicholas Foulkes, a leading authority on watchmaking and author of several in-depth works on Rolex, the book offers a meticulously researched account of the Submariner's evolution. Foulkes, known for his extensive exploration of watches, including Time Tamed, which chronicles the evolution of timekeeping over 3,500 years, brings a wealth of expertise to the project. Set for release in both English and French on September 16, the book marks the beginning of a new series of official Rolex publications, aimed at exploring the history of the brand's most iconic models. Through this work, readers will gain insight into the Submariner's journey from its groundbreaking debut in 1953 as the first divers' watch waterproof to 100 meters (330 feet) to its place today as a symbol of precision and exploration.
